United Kingdom: Why UK bosses love Australasian workers
Posted by Bernadette in UK, UK Inspiration
Ever since the mid-1960s, when Earl’s Court was known to everyone as ‘Kangaroo Alley’, Australians and New Zealanders have been coming to the UK to live and work.
And the locals have loved it! The banter and rivalry between Poms, Aussies and Kiwis masks a deep connection that is evident everywhere; from a friendly drink at the pub, all the way to the workplace.
According to Jeremy Nicholls, Director of the London-based Australiasian Recruitment Company, Aussies are very highly regarded by UK recruiters, who see them as “…professional, hard working, friendly, having a positive work ethic, down to earth, and determined to add value”.

Nicholls adds that although there’s a downturn in public service opportunities, “Banking and Finance and Commerce and Industry will continue to grow. Business confidence is higher than 12 months ago… The Olympics is 18 months away and opportunities particularly within Infrastructure will be good, while the Technology and Online space will continue its strong growth”.
Jobseeking Aussies and Kiwis are lucky. They’re well-liked, respected as hard workers.
